La fase di sterilizzazione prevede:

1- DECONTAMINAZIONE: subito dopo l’uso lo strumentario viene viene decontaminato prima di essere lavato e maneggiato,in modo da ridurre la carica degli agenti infettivi. Inoltre, si ha la reidratazione dei residui organici che favorisce la loro rimozione nelle fasi successive. La decontaminazione viene effettuata mediante immersione in soluzioni chimiche.

2- LAVAGGIO IN ULTRASUONI: segue il lavaggio dello strumentario in ultrasuoni a circa 40°C.

3- RISCIACQUO E ASCIUGATURA: una volta decontaminati, gli strumenti vengono risciacquati abbondantemente sotto l’acqua corrente. I residui di sporco vengono asportati utilizzando spazzole e scovolini.

4- ASCIUGATURA: Dopo il risciacquo lo strumentario viene perfettamente asciugato tramite l’utilizzo di aria compressa e anni in microfibra.

5- CONFEZIONAMENTO: Una volta asciugati, gli strumenti destinati alla sterilizzazione in autoclave vengono opportunamente confezionati. Gli strumenti confezionati rimangono sterili per 30 giorni.

6- STERILIZZAZIONE IN AUTOCLAVE: Lo strumentario viene inserito in autoclave con il lato plastificato verso il basso.

Al termine del ciclo d’autoclave i vari strumenti vengono posizionati in appositi contenitori
